The mantra of ‘Cine Srishti: Bhartiya drishti’ will enhance the contribution of cinema in nation building:-Arjun Ram Meghwal

Mumbai : May 13, 1952, The first day of the Parliament session for the country’s first elected government, which laid the foundation of the country’s independent life. Even today it is 13th May when Sanskar Bharati is organizing a two day event named Cine Talkies whose brainstorming will inspire the cinema of the country to contribute its maximum in nation building.Union Minister of State for Culture Arjun Ram Meghwal expressed this statement. He was addressing the inaugural session of the two-day Cine Talkies program organized jointly under the aegis of Sanskar Bharati-Mumbai University and Indira Gandhi Kala Kendra.

In his statement, Mr. Meghwal, while describing the Vivekananda and Maina Devi episode, also underlined the importance of audio-visual media. Vivekananda ji was a great man but he refuses to participate in a drama program of Khetri. They do not want to hear Mainabai’s singing, do not even come under the pressure of Raja Arijit Singh ji. Maina Bai challenged Vivekananda, why don’t you see the Nar and Narayan sitting inside me. Swami stops on his way to the sadhana room on hearing that, ‘prabhu don’t hold my wicked mind’ In that meeting Swami Vivekananda was crying and in the other she was crying Maina Bai. As the bhajan was completed Swamiji asked for forgiveness.

On 13 May 1952, the first parliament of the first elected government .There was a discussion in it – in the first election, there was less voting, if you advertise in the cinema hall, then people will vote and understand its importance. Has our cinema, which sings Yeh Bharat Hamara Hai, not to be  contributed?

The Bhils stop the British for a month, 1500 Bhils were martyred on 17 May 1913. Govind Guru said that you have died for the country, nature will fill it. By killing these 1500 Bhils, the British  government have been shaken. Mean while In 1914 the First World War started.

The Vithoor rebellion of Kanpur took place.In 1857, wrestler Gangu Mehtar killed 200 Englishmen with sword in hand.The British caught him in a sleeping position and hanged him on a tree.These are events on which a films must be made.He expressed hope that amrut  will surely emerge from the discussion in this two-day program and will be helpful in making the country a Vishwaguru.

Eminent actor-director Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi while giving a statement on this occasion said that it is necessary to have Indianness in cinema. He told that if someone suggested to Bapu to link the freedom movement with the film, he said that the people of the film cannot be trusted.Khwaja Ahmad Abbas wrote a letter to Bapu on this.

Before cinema, drama was the audio-visual medium.When and why did Bharatmuni write the creation of the Veda-like Natya? Brahma ji ordered for the creation of the fifth Veda that means of entertainment which is worthy of being seen and heard.Prajapati made Daitya Daiva Natakam from the four Vedas.

When the play ‘Indra Dhwaja’ was presented, Virupaksha tried to stop the play.He was accused of misrepresenting the history of his ancestors.Earlier the play used to be in the open, it started happening in the theatre. Reiterated that when there is Indianness in cinema, it will be successful.

The special guest of this session, eminent actress-director and former chairman of the Censor Board, Ms. Asha Parekh said that cinema is a pride to be associated with the rest of the world.Our country is full of diversity. The influence of cine talkies will increase in future.

Cinema was earlier a medium of entertainment, but now it is a tool for creating ideas.

Earlier, the members of the advisory committee of this event, KV Vijendra Prasad, Jahnu Barua, Victor Banerjee, Vaman Kendra were felicitated. Apart from this, a book ‘Encyclopedia of Indian Cinema‘ written by Late Shriram Tamrakar, Film Editor of Naiduniya (Indore) was released.

Sachchidanand Joshi, Secretary, Indira Gandhi Kala Kendra, said in the inaugural session that this is an important event,Reading persists for 15-20%, listening is 30% and audio video has 60% effect.AV content has high brain retention.This is the era of making narratives, so it is necessary that our concern towards Indian cinema is our duty.It is not just entertainment but it is very effective medium to spread consciousness,This is an important academic event. Minister Arjun ji is also a famous folk singer.

The battle ahead is of ideas, like the army, and the intellectual society will have to fight the battle of Narrative openly.

Welcoming guests address, Dr. Suhas Pednekar, Vice Chancellor, University of Mumbai said that there is a need to produce films that inspire the new generation.He pointed out that the University of Mumbai has produced 6 Bharat Ratna and several Padma awardees.Keeping in view the growing influence of the audio-visual medium, the University of Mumbai will start courses related to it in the near future.

The program, being held at Mumbai University, was inaugurated by Union Ministers Arjun Ram Meghwal, Dr. Suhas Pednekar, Dr. Sachchidanand Joshi, Ms. Asha Parekh, Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi, National President of Sanskar Bharati, Vasudev Kamat and Arun Shekhar.The team of Konkan Prant Sanskar Bharati presented the goal song.

On this occasion, Sanskar Bharti’s sangathan mantri Abhijit Gokhale, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh‘s prachar pramukh Sunil Ambrekar, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s senior prachrak Ramlal, and more than 35 representatives of all film industries of the country, filmmakers from every corner of the country and film subjects Fellows  present at this occasion.
